About Jodie Kelvy

Founder of HorseHand & Sixth Sense Horsemanship

Jodie Kelvy’s connection with horses began early—she bought her first horse at just 7 years old. From pony club and local shows to the vast red dirt of the outback, Jodie’s journey with horses has been hands-on, heartfelt, and deeply rooted in experience.

By 11, she was already working professionally in pre-training thoroughbreds and later went on to track riding. Her passion took her across cattle properties in the Australian outback, giving her a deep understanding of horses in both structured and natural environments.

In Port Hedland, she founded JK’s Horse Sense School, where she combined her unique approach with her love of teaching. Along the way, Jodie has trained beside some of the world’s most respected horsemen, including the legendary Buck Brannaman and Australia’s own Heath Harris—both leaving a lasting impression on her philosophy and methods.

In 2007, she founded HorseHand with the vision of helping people develop real, lasting partnerships with their horses. Through her Sixth Sense Horsemanship method, Jodie has guided thousands of horses and humans toward better understanding, mutual respect, and harmony.

Today, she continues to share her wisdom with honesty, clarity, and a deep respect for the horse.
