This course is highly recommended for families who are considering buying their child a horse.

  What will we cover?

~Approaching and Haltering the horse  ~

Before you can lead your horse you need to be abe to put the Halter on !

This is the beginning of the experience for both you and your horse and sets the foundation for further communication that day.

There is a certain way to approach a horses that is safe and horse friendly that will build a trusting relationship and there are other ways people approach horses that can make him/her defensive – knowing this horse friendly way puts you way ahead when it comes to respect from your horse.

~moving around the horse~

Doing this incorrectly is one of the most common mistakes i have seen many people make over my decades of teaching. Knowing what to do and how to do it can be a game changer when it comes to respect from your horse.

~Handling the horse’s legs ~

Learn this certain way that relaxes the horse and will encourage it to cooperate. If you go about this without correct guidence the horse can become defensive and handling the legs can get dangerous real fast!

~ leading your horse. ~

We will give you the skills to lead a horse in a way that builds a strong connection based on trust and respect for each other.

Leading the horse is one of the most misunderstood concepts I have witnessed in my 43 years of training horses and humans.

Ground communication in preparation for riding

99% of horse related accidents are human error.

Ground communication and checks are vital if you want to prepare yourself and your horse for a positive riding experience.

You will learn our pre ride ritual that we have been effectively using for the past 17 years to make sure that our 40 horses are ready to be calm and responsive for their handlers and riders
